We’re back from Houston and I don’t think I’m ready for winter yet. The weather down there wasn’t as hot as it usually is when I go in the summer & not as cold as when I visit in the spring. In fact, the weather was pretty damn nice this time around… If it weren’t for the wind, it probably would’ve reached the upper 70s instead of the 60s. But it still beats the winter weather over here…

Friday night we arrived in Houston just in time to have a midnight snack at Sonic. I keep seeing Sonic commercials here in Chicago but the closest one seems like a million miles away. So you can’t imagine my excitement when we pulled into the Sonic Drive-In and ordered an Extra Long Chili Cheese Coney… And lemme tell you it was deeeeelicious. Then again, anything is delicious when you’re starving at midnight…

Saturday we were up bright and early for our day trip to San Antonio. I’ve never been down there before so we figured why not go for a little shopping at the outlets on the way & then have dinner by The Alamo. Unfortunately, we were having way too much fun shopping and got to the Alamo just in time to watch them close the doors for the day. But I took a picture of the hours so next time we know what time to come. hahaha… So instead we took the boat tour to learn a little history and then had a delicious dinner along the river. By the time we got back to Houston we were pooped… even tho M did all the driving. hehehe…

Sunday we headed over to spend some time with JayRoam’s family at a housewarming. Had some yummy lunch and then left JayRoam with his family for the evening while we went to visit my Aunt who had a nice home-cooked meal all ready for us. Then it was off to Berripop for dessert. Eh… it was ok. A little too tart for my liking but the cheesecake on top was delicious…

Monday I spent some good quality girl time with the Momma-to-Be. Did some craft store shopping & then hit the salon for a little pampering. It’s been forever since my last pedicure and my feet were getting pretty nappy. So a pedi couldn’t have come at a better time. And it was cheap! I got a Mani, Pedi & a brow wax all for $53… Not bad… After the spa we went to my favorite Japanese Restaurant, Japaneiro’s… mmMMmmm… Crab Puffs… oh how I’ve missed those delicious Crap Puffs… Yum! After lunch we did a little more shopping and then headed home to wait for M so we could meet JayRoam and his cousins for one last meal together at Luling City Market…. mmMMmmm Good Texas BBQ. After dinner we weren’t ready to end the night yet so we all headed over to Paciugo for some gelato. It nice to see our families get along so well…

It was a great time and I miss the Houston family already. Click the Pic for more… And now I’m back in the cold… *brrrrrrr* I’m so over winter and it hasn’t even really begun yet…

Some people really need to find something better to complain about…

Yesterday there was note from one of our neighbors warning us about some asshole in the neighborhood who’s calling the police to complain about stupid little things… This a little old lady who lives across the street from us. She’s lived on our street longer than most of us in the neighborhood were even born. And even though life is rough for her (because she lives in a wheelchair), she still finds the time & energy to volunteer to tutor kids (and sometimes adults). She’s one of the sweetest, most helpful, & patient woman I’ve ever met… and some asshole had the nerve to complain that her “business” (which really isn’t a business if it’s “volunteering”) is causing too much traffic on our street! Can you believe that crap?!?!? The asshole neighbor actually called the police to complain about it! Sure, I admit that I get annoyed when there’s someone double parked in front of my house when they’re waiting to pick up their kid from hers. But to call the police about it?!?!? That’s such bullshit! It’s really not that serious. And I’ll bet money that the asshole is the same asshole who likes to harrass people’s guests when they park in front of her house…

So to our asshole neighbor…
First of all, it’s a public street that anyone has the right to drive down or park on…
Secondly, we’ve lived in a pretty peaceful, drama free neighborhood for a long time until you retards moved in… And we’ve been here almost 30 years… So we’ve seen many neighbors come and go. None have been more inconsiderate & nosey than you…
Thirdly, there are worse things in life to worry about than some nice old lady who’s volunteering her time to help the community… Wtf are you doing to help the community besides calling the police who have REAL crimes to take care of…
Fourthly, It’s assholes like you that make it hard for nice people to be nice…

No… It’s not my birthday yet… It still have a week to go. But last week I treated myself to an early birthday present. I’ve been waiting all summer for this print to come out… So I scooped it up before it could sell out like the other print I wanted. I wasn’t gonna let this one run out this time so I ordered it as soon as it became available. I thought I wouldn’t get it in time for my trip. But right as I got home, the mail lady was walking up to my doorstep with the package in her hand. Poor thing… I almost tackled her for it because I already knew what it was… Yay! Another purse to add to my growing collection of Tokidoki… Gah! I’m such an addict… But worth every penny… hehehe…
